The Vista CA real estate area is a bedroom community located inland from Oceanside and just west of San Marcos. Vista homes are a mix of old and new spread between hills and mesas. The mesas add to the country feeling as they discourage development in the ravines and on the steeper slopes. In many parts of Vista, however, the housing comes across as suburban, modern affluent. Homes in north vista have a fair amount of open space and a country feeling. There is quite a bit of agriculture in the north Vista CA real estate area. Vista has a new shopping area called Vista Village that boast of nice restaurants, a multiplex movie, and a large wave water park.
The population of Vista is over 96,000. Children in Vista attend schools of the Vista Unified School District. Scores vary, but many schools are scoring well above the 50th percentile. One Vista elementary specializes in math and science and another in visual and performing arts.
The Vista CA homes area started growing in the late 1940s and 1950s when it built about 3,500 Vista homes. In the 1960s, 4100 Vista homes were added and in the 1970s about 6,700 units. In 1963, Vista incorporated as a city and brought planning under local control. In the 1980s, Vista growth exploded, building 10,500 housing units. In 2009 the state counted over 31,000 housing units, of which 16,000 were single-family detached homes. One of the most popular areas of Vista homes is located around the Shadowridge golf course and goes by the same name.
The Vista CA homes for sale area offers some of the best medical care in San Diego County. The nearby Tri-City Medical Center has been designated as one of “100 Top Hospitals: Regional Benchmarks for Success” for three years straight by HCIA Mercer. Tri-City Hospital has 380 beds and is an acute-care hospital which offers a full range of primary care along with medical-surgical services including emergency medicine, cardiovascular, and imaging services. The city of Vista is also home to the San Diego Superior Courts.
