Oceanside Listings
Oceanside is one of the largest and most interesting communities in San Diego North County because of its rich Oceanside history. The San Luis Rey Mission in the San Luis Rey River valley was founded in 1798. This was the largest mission in California and was known at the King of Missions. Many other cities in North County started from settlers branching out for this mission. Residents of the area around the mission would go to the beach or “ocean side” on Sundays for relaxation, thus the name.
Another famous place in the Oceanside real estate area is Oceanside Pier. Oceanside, like other San Diego North County coastal cities, has some great beaches. Oceanside Harbor is also a major attraction and offers many resturants, fishing and boating activities.
Because of the Oceanside communities large size ( over 42 square miles) it offers a variety of Oceanside homes. Many houses are reasonably priced, but other properties like those right at the beach (ocean view homes) have hefty price tags.
